Description
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for Hair Loss is a non-surgical treatment designed to stimulate hair growth and combat hair thinning or baldness. It involves using a concentrated form of the patient's own platelets and growth factors, which are extracted from their blood. These platelets are rich in healing proteins that help regenerate hair follicles, improving the overall health of the scalp and encouraging new hair growth. PRP works by promoting circulation, enhancing cellular repair, and encouraging the growth of dormant hair follicles. It is an effective solution for both men and women experiencing hair thinning or pattern baldness. With regular treatments, PRP can help to strengthen existing hair, improve thickness, and prevent further hair loss, giving you a fuller, healthier-looking head of hair.

What is Hair Loss?
Hair loss on the scalp refers to the thinning or shedding of hair, which can occur gradually or in patches. It is often caused by factors such as genetics, hormonal changes, age, stress, or certain medical conditions. The most common type of scalp hair loss is androgenetic alopecia, also known as pattern baldness, which affects both men and women. This condition leads to thinning hair, a receding hairline, or bald patches on the scalp, impacting appearance and confidence.
Procedure
Here's how it works:
Blood Draw: A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm.

Centrifuging: The blood is spun in a centrifuge, separating the platelets from other components. The result is a concentrated solution of platelets, growth factors, and proteins.

Injection: The concentrated PRP is then injected into targeted areas of the scalp to stimulate natural healing, promote hair follicle regeneration, and encourage new hair growth.

Product administered
On average, about 10-20 mL of blood is drawn from the patient, which is then processed to extract the platelet-rich plasma. After processing, typically 1-3 mL of PRP is injected per treatment area, but this can vary depending on the procedure and the area being treated.
Timeline and Expected Reults
The number of PRP treatments needed for hair loss depends on your hair condition and goals. Typically, you'll need three to six initial sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. To maintain the benefits, patients are recommended to undergo a single maintenance treatment every six to twelve months.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) hair treatments can take 3–6 months to show significant results, and the effects can last up to 12 months. Maintenance sessions are required to sustain the results.
